There’s no need to list the challenges we’re facing, it’s 2021. While we did outlast 2020, the problems of yesteryear have yet to disappear. At this point we have to discuss tangible solutions and methods of action. This is the purpose of The RootFlower™, to provide plants as the vehicle to our collective destination of total health.
From medicine to jet fuel to clothing to shelter - plants have always been infused into our existence. Few possess the ability to process pure light energy into usable chemical energy. This function positions plants at the center of our food supply, for vegans and carnivores alike. Plants generate unique sugars, vitamins, oils, and alkaloids which we have used to support and advance life.
Now in context to our modern challenges of addressing the environmental crisis and access to wholesome food and healthcare, we once again find our relation to plants at the epicenter. The tactics we have largely employed to address the concept of climate change may eventually lower total emissions but does come at a cost. Consider electric battery technologies which maintains significant potential, yet often requires exploited labor and questionable mining practices of irreplaceable metals, making the practice unsustainable. As it takes time for us to improve upon such methods, the greenhouses gasses continue to accumulate without reprieve.
Harvesting without planting, taking without replacing. In areas with less trees, we have polluted air and hotter temperatures. Why? Plants act as the lungs of the earth, almost in response to how we breathe. The carbon dioxide we create from both breathing and burning fossil fuels is absorbed by plants, which then releases a cooling water vapor to purify the air and propel to the water cycle.
Ideally we will continue to strive towards minimizing carbon emissions via technological advancement; however to address our current condition we must explore greenhouse gas management techniques. Plants are the highest natural technology we have to process such greenhouse gasses; dually functioning as a producer of the good (photosynthesis) and a filter of the bad (carbon/water cycle).
Plants give us all the opportunity to contribute to the betterment of our environment as we continue to navigate towards total health. All we have to do is plant. Plant inside. Plant outside. Plant in your apartment. Plant at your house. Some really cool people even have plants in their car. Talk about plants. Sing about plants. Think about plants. Use plants. Buy plants. Buy plant products. Share plants. Plant plants.
The RootFlower™ seeks to serve as a functional source of plants and natural products as a testament to the intersect of plants and our daily lives. The mission is to replant the earth, at land and at sea, in both the city and the countryside. Together we can heal our environment for a healthier future.
Peace be with you,
